Traveling within the USA
Learn MoreFrom May 7, 2025, a Real ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card will be required to board domestic commercial flights or access certain federal facilities. Look for the star in the upper-right corner of your ID.
Traveling to the United Kingdom
Apply for an ETAEffective January 8, 2025, U.S. citizens visiting or transiting through the UK need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) unless they have a UK visa or legal residency in the UK or the Republic of Ireland.
Traveling to the European Union
Learn MoreThe European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) will soon become mandatory. It's currently slated for the first half of 2025. This applies to visa-free travelers visiting 30 European countries for short stays (up to 90 days in a 180-day period).
